Life Update + 20 Week Bumpdate!

What a hectic weekend it’s been! Thought with everything going on, it would be best to throw in a bit of a “life update” with this week’s bumpdate. We have been go, go, go since Saturday, and I am feeling it today! This weekend we went up to Leeds to celebrate my sister-in-law and brother-in-laws 40th birthday bash – my pregnant ass somehow managed to stay up until almost 4 AM! Not sure how I accomplished that, but I was definitely feeling it the next day. Got no snaps of myself because #isuck. Oh well.

After the party we drove to Norwich for Steve’s UEA graduation. He’s finally finished his thesis and earned his Masters of Research. I couldn’t be prouder of him!

Yesterday marks 20 weeks of being pregnant with Baby McGrath. I can’t believe I’m halfway through my pregnancy! Thank god. I’m actually starting to enjoy this pregnancy, but definitely hoping the next few months fly by. Life is definitely great right now – hectic and sometimes stressful, but great. Definitely need to start making a list of allll the things that I need to do over the next few months!

How Far Along: 20 weeks and 1 day

Gender: Still Unknown

How I’m Feeling: Generally, pretty well! My energy has come back, as well as my appetite (in full force!). Oh, and experiencing loads of heartburn – good times. I’m so relieved that I’m starting to feel somewhat “normal”, especially after my diagnosis with hyperemesis gravidarum, which was making life miserable for me. I actually wrote a post about it over at Sincerely Essie – have a read if you get a chance! The pelvic pain has also subsided a bit, though my back is definitely starting to ache more and more. I’ve felt well enough to start some prenatal yoga to stay active — hoping it helps with some of the aches and pains accompanied by pregnancy!

Cravings: Still all the cheese. Oh, and dipping my fries in ketchup, mustard, and mayo all at the same time?

Movement: I’m starting to feel SO MUCH movement – more and more everyday! I probably sit with my hand on my stomach for like 80% of my day. I’m obsessed. Sometimes it’s so strong that I can actually see baby moving around! It’s so surreal and makes me so happy, yet also kind of freaks me out at the same time lmao.

Looking Forward To: Our anomaly scan this week! Can’t wait to see how baby’s doing and hear that little heartbeat again. We can also find out the gender at this scan – I’ll be having the ultrasound technician write it down instead of telling us. We’ll reveal the baby’s gender when we visit my family in NJ in a couple of weeks – I seriously CANNOT WAIT.
