I cannot believe it’s August already! It feels like the summer has flown by, and not gonna lie – I’m okay with that! Bring on autumn and the glorious weather that comes with it! This summer was a hectic one, specifically July. I’m kind of glad it’s over, because there has been a lot going on the past few weeks. It’s been a stressful time here for us, and anxiety has been slowly creeping it’s way back into my life. It’s so difficult to keep focused in times like these, so I’ve been looking for ways to combat the stress, anxiety, and all the negatives in life to keep positive and focused with what I need to do. So I’ve set some goals for myself this month (and hopefully will continue to do so each month after if I can keep with it).
Having a list of goals set is not only a way to keep yourself motivated (obv), but it’s also a great way to hold yourself accountable for the things you intend to do. It’s one thing to say “oh, I’ll get that done this month” or “I’ll really work on that”, but just saying something isn’t enough to actually do it. Which is where this great little corner of the internet that I rant in from time to time comes in – I can not only track my progress, but I also have ALL OF THE INTERNET WITNESSING IT. Telling you all I’ll work to achieve something, and then do NOTHING about it is just embarrassing. So I completely expect you all to call bullshit on me for any excuses I may make. I promise I won’t take it too hard.
AUGUST GOALS
- Practice yoga at least two times a week.
- Become more organized. I feel a bit all over the place lately, and am desperately trying to get more organized and into a rhythm with things.
- Blog more consistently. I was doing so well for a while there with blogging 3 times a week. I’m a bit disappointed in myself that I’ve been so inconsistent lately, but then again, no one’s perfect.
- Improve my blog & social media followings. I’m going to start small with this one, since I’m still new to blogging and am still trying to keep my head above water. My social media followings are small, so I can’t expect a HUGE increase. Here’s what I’m hoping for:
- Blog – Hit 1,000 page views (I came close in April 2018, but my inconsistency has caused them to drop)
- Facebook – Hit 100 followers (lol not asking for much!)
- Instagram – Hit 600 followers
- Twitter – Hit 400 followers
- Eat healthier. Lol, we’ll see how THAT goes.
- Read. I used to read SO MUCH when I was younger. Like, the library couldn’t keep up with all the books I took out each week. And my mother went so far as to put a ban on me at one point (how dare she?). Now, I find it so hard to get through anything, as my attention’s all over the place. Reading blog posts definitely helps, but I’m looking for good books to read in my spare time as well – recommendations, please!!!
My list isn’t extensive, but I think the goals on it are worth trying to achieve. I don’t think having a list as long as my arm would be beneficial – it would probably just make me feel even more stressed right now.
What are some of your goals for this month?
xx Lauren
Very good goals! I need to get into yoga, I feel like it’s missing from my life. x
I am suchhhhhhhh a newbie so far, and am still trying to get into a rhythm with it but I love it! I feel so good afterwards.
