If You Stare at a Screen All Day, Then You Need These

Both my job and blogging require dedicating most of my time during the day (and night) staring at a computer screen.  Even when I’m not working, I must admit, I find myself constantly staring at a screen of some sort – whether it be the computer, my phone, or the television.  With this comes a lot of crap side-effects – not only have I been dealing with a lot of eye strain and some blurred vision, but I have been getting so many more massive headaches and migraines lately because of it.  I’m no stranger to the headaches, as I have been in this job for 7 years, but I’ve noticed them getting progressively over the past few months. It was one thing to pop an ibuprofen every now and then, but I really hate having to rely on that.

Looking into the issue, and hoping to find a way to help combat the side effects associated with staring at the screen, I came across blue light filtering glasses.  They’re pretty self-explanatory, in that they absorb and block out the harsh blue light emitted from screens, making it much easier on the eyes.

Figuring there was no harm in trying them out, I ordered a pair on Amazon.  And let me tell you – they actually work, much to my surprise. I’ve been using them for almost a month now, and I can honestly say that I’ve noticed such a difference.  My eyes don’t feel as fatigued at the end of the work day, and my headaches have pretty much almost vanished. They have made work slightly more bearable. I also wear them when watching tv, just for safe measure.

I bought these Cyxus blue light filtering glasses in leopard print (obviously) – they had great reviews and a ton of styles to choose from.  I had to get used to wearing them, because I don’t wear glasses normally, but it wasn’t so bad at first. The glasses are a bit large for my face I think, but despite that I think look pretty good, which is a bonus.  I definitely think it’s something worth buying if you spend a massive amount of time starting at a screen.

Have you used blue light filtering glasses?  Let me know about your experience using them!

  • I have not tried blue light filtering glasses but I should! I have been blogging more and going for my nutrition Certification which is also done the computer. So these would help with my eyes!!

    • I really do recommend them! I didn’t think they’d actually work, but they really have helped tremendously. Your eyes will thank you!

  • I’ve never even heard of these but they sound like exactly what I need!! I get terrible headaches and often attribute it to the fact that I am spending hours in front of a screen – even more so now that I am blogging! I love the leopard print too! 🙂 Charlie xo

    • I had never heard of them before either! I spend so much time in front of the computer, which causes headaches for me, as well. The glasses have helped massively with that!
