During the holiday season, we spend so much time searching for the perfect gift for loved ones. I know that I, for example, will spend hours brainstorming gift ideas for everyone. I normally do pretty well, but I always struggle with finding the right gift for the men in my life. It’s so hard to find something that they want (or need) that they don’t already have. I don’t like giving a simple giftcard; I feel that there is not that much thought put behind them. Each gift needs to be unique to that person, and something that makes their eyes completely light up when they see it. So when Nordgreen sent me one of their beautiful men’s watches, I knew right away when looking at it that it ticked those boxes and then some.
Nordgreen is fairly new to the designer watch scene, but is quickly gaining popularity – not only for it’s watch designs, but also for it’s brand values. The company works together with Jakob Wagner, a renowned Scandinavian watch designer, and together they’ve created the most beautiful watches I’ve ever seen.
The designs are simple; a sleek case and a simple strap. No need for the fuss and frills that you see in some other watches. Nordgreen watches are the embodiment of minimalism at its absolute best. I chose their “Infinity” design for Steve in silver with a dark gray leather strap. It’s absolutely stunning. Aside from the beautiful designs, Nordgreen prides itself in its sustainability; all of the watches are made with materials sourced from sustainable manufacturers, and all of the packaging is recyclable.
And just when you think that’s all, it’s not. Nordgreen launched their own “Giving Back Programme” – with each watch bought, Nordgreen makes a donation to one of three global NGOs – Water for Good, Pratham UK, and Cool Earth. And it’s not just one of those “Oh, the money from your purchase has gone to such and such organization, thanks!”. Nordgreen allows you to be a part of the donation process, in such a personal way. There is a serial number on the back of each watch, and inside the box that the watch comes in is a Certificate of Authenticity with an identification code. After you go to their site and pick the charity you wish to donate to, simply input that information in the boxes provided, and the money from part of your purchase is put towards that charity. This reason alone set the brand apart from others for me. It’s nice to know that buy doing something as simple as clicking “add to cart” means that clean water or education will be given to those in need, or you’re helping to preserve the rainforests in Latin America.
Whether you’re shopping for your brother, or your father, or your husband, Nordgreen watches are the perfect gift (guess who has an anniversary coming up RIGHT before Christmas and needs TWO gifts for her husband – this girl!). Don’t worry – they have women’s watches too. I have my eye on my own Infinity watch, and am dropping hints left and right to Steve about it…
The weeks are passing quickly, and the clock is ticking. Black Friday is almost here, and soon enough it will be Christmas. Save yourself the guessing game of gift shopping this season and head to Nordgreen.
P.S. They are having some GREAT Black Friday deals! Even more incentive to pick up a watch 😉
