I don’t know about you, but I do a lot of my shopping online. I mean, A LOT of it. As much as I love perusing in-store, there’s nothing like being able to shop your favorite brands and retailers from the comfort of your own home (i.e. not wearing a bra).
My mom always taught me to try and get the best deal for anything I possibly can. Seriously, she is like the coupon queen of America. Raising five kids, you learn how to get your money’s worth, whether that be grocery shopping or shopping for new school clothes. And that advice is something that I’ve always carried with me. So, it’s no surprise that I try to do the same with online shopping!
To get the most out of my online shopping, I have a few browser extensions downloaded to Chrome. I thought I would share the ones that I use to get discounts and earn points or rewards from every online purchase that I make.
This is the extension that I’ve been using the longest, and can say that I love it. I started using it when I lived in America, as that was the only country you could it in, initially. It’s since expanded to several other countries.
Basically, Honey automatically applies every discount code it can find online for you at checkout for loads of different retailers to try and get you the best discount. When checking out on a site that supports Honey, a cute, dancing coin pops up in the right corner that prompts you to apply the discounts it has found. All you simply do is click and button, and it does the work for you.
Honey won’t always find a discount, so bear that in mind. But it’s so easy to use that it’s worth a shot anyway if you still plan on placing an order online. Honey also has something called Honey Gold. You can earn points (or coins, as they call them), through select retailers. Once you reach 1,000 coins, you can redeem for gift cards. I’ve used mine in the past to redeem Amazon gift cards, but there’s many different stores you can redeem them at.

Pretty much the same thing as Honey. It scans through all the different discount codes and applies the best one for you at checkout. I like to switch back and forth between this and Honey to see which one has the best deal.
Those of you that shop at Sainsbury’s are definitely familiar with Nectar. I initially thought that it was only to be used at Sainsbury’s for grocery (and gas!), but recently discovered that it could be used to collect points for loads of other brands! Ebay, Argos, Debenhams, and Asos, to name a few. It’s definitely worth getting a Nectar card, and downloading the browser extension if you haven’t already!
This is great if, like me, you are starting a family, or already have children. It’s basically a loyalty program that helps you start building a savings for your children. What’s great about it is that you can link up several different cards to it, AND invite family members to join – so every time they shop online, it benefits your children! You can also save the money into any bank account or building society of your liking. If you don’t have one setup yet, you can still start saving and tell KidStart where to allocate the funds at a later time. I’ve already saved £15 for Baby McGrath since joining!

There ya go! Hope this list helps – happy shopping!
