Here we are! Thirty weeks pregnant – now it’s reallyyyy getting close. Not going to lie, the anxiety is starting to REALLY set in. I still don’t feel prepared AT ALL for this baby, in terms of getting stuff (there’s just SO. MUCH. STUFF. NEEDED) and feeling mentally prepared. But I’m still trying my best to enjoy this pregnancy.
Totally meant to post this on the weekend but we were SO BUSY. Steve’s sister and the boys came down for the weekend, so not much time to spend on blogging! We went out for afternoon tea on Saturday, which was lovely, and just spent some quality time with them. Steve officially got the boys addicted to GTA 5 (lol, sorry Lu).
Oh, and we officially have the baby’s cot! Steve’s sister brought it down with her on Friday, because her boys were the last to use it. It’s a family heirloom on Steve’s mom’s side, and it’s so precious. Not long now until baby boy is in it!
How Far Along: 30 Weeks + 3 Days
Gender: Little man <3
How I’m Feeling: So. Anxious. My due date is in 10 (less than now?!) weeks, and I’m still trying to process that, come Christmas, we’re going to be a family of three. It’s so surreal! So mentally, yes, I’m feeling all over the place. Physically, two words: back. pain. It is becoming AWFUL. We’ve tried pillows, turning our mattress, etc. Just gotta get used to it, I guess. Oh, and it’s now radiating down to my hips, so I have to get up in the middle of the night just to walk around a bit for relief. And my ribs hurt. Nothing is beautiful and everything hurts.
Movement: Baby boy is moving NONSTOP. He is so active, almost all the time. And so strong! As uncomfortable as it gets, it gives me so much peace of mind knowing that we have a strong little boy! And here’s to hoping that he’ll be a footballer.
Maternity Clothes: Leggings. All day, everyday. I honestly can’t remmeber the last time I wore jeans and yea, totally okay with that. And it’s now officially autumn, which means cue all the oversized sweater and legging combos! I recently got this sweater and sized up for an even comfier fit and I have been living in it. So comfy!
How We’re Preparing For Baby: We’ve officially ticked a few more big items off of our list! We now have our stroller and infant car seat, as well as a a little swing for him. We got them both during the Mothercare Expectant Parents Event, which I DEFINITELY recommend attending! Lots of information (and more importantly, discounts!). As I said earlier, we also have the baby’s cot. So all the big items are sorted…I think lol! We also have our antenatal classes starting in a couple weeks, where we get to tour the hospital I’ll be giving birth in.
Looking Forward To: Putting together the nursery nook in our bedroom. Expect lots of pictures on Instagram when it’s done! We also plan on having a little “babymoon” – no idea where to go yet, but can’t wait!
xx Lauren
