Bath time is probably Aidan’s favorite time of the day. He gets so excited knowing he’s going to be splashing around in the tub. But it wasn’t always like that! When he was first born, he absolutely HATED it, which made Steve and I dread it every single time. But now, it’s so much easier. Okay, well sort of. Aidan is literally all over the place now, so although it’s mentally easier, it’s physically more exhausting!

We established a bath time routine early on in Aidan’s infancy. We know babies thrive on routine, and let me tell you – if bath time were to be skipped, it would not be pretty! That consistency is super important in our daily routine and gets him settled for the evening.

We always make sure to have everything ready for bath time. We fill the bath to the right temperature, and we lay a towel and all supplies out. Having everything setup saves so much stress!

Here are some of our bath time essentials!

Multi-Stage Bathtub – This bathtub is absolutely great! We used it from when Aidan was a newborn to about 9 months old. He’s a climber so had to ditch it for this bath seat so we could contain him – but it can be used up to a year old. It also has a thermometer sticker on the side and a built in drain.

Thermometer – Now that Aidan’s no longer in the baby bath tub, we still need to monitor the water temperate. This thermometer is dirt cheap and does the job brilliantly. Plus can double as a toy!

Skincare – So we use a range of skincare products, mainly from the My Little Coco range. We use the shampoo, bath & body bubbles, and body cream. They all smell incredible! We also use Child’s Farm Bubble Bath because it makes the bath SO bubbly, which Aidan loves. And we always put a bit of Sudocrem on him to keep him from getting a nappy rash through the night.

Towels – I love the Aden & Anais Hooded towels. They are so incredibly soft and come in really lovely designs. I also bought a few packs of bamboo washcloths from Amazon, so they’re gentle on baby’s skin.

Bath Toys – We don’t have too many bath toys for Aidan at the moment. He’s only just starting to get to that age where he will really play in the tub (though that’s quickly changing – I imagine a lot more bath toys in the near future!). We do have loads of rubber ducks (which he finds absolutely HYSTERICAL when you pretend they’re quacking). And I thought these floating toys and light-up star were so cute!

Happy bathing!

  • I always wonder how people put these images together like this!

I haven’t heard of this baby soap, Tums has used the Honest ones pretty much her whole life so far but I’ve been searching for something a bit more moisturizing!

    • Its a UK brand, so not sure if it’s available in the States but it it SO GOOD. Super light, super moisturising and smells so great too 🙂
