Okay, so we’re already a month into 2020 and I’m just writing this now #newmomproblems.

2019 was, in a nutshell, exhausting. I went from leaving my job for a new one; falling pregnant and leaving THAT job due to my health; visiting the family in NJ; to going back to my previous employer and working up until the day before I gave birth. I was able to tick off “have a baby” before the holidays, so now it’s time to look ahead to 2020. Normal life can now resume. Sort of. Now it’s time to find a new normal. We’re not there yet, but I know we will in fact get there eventually.

To be honest, the first month of this new year has come and gone in a blur for me. Aidan has brought with him absolute chaos, and getting anything done has proven to be a challenge. I’m eager (and by eager I mean anxious?), to move forward and see how this year goes. I have no clue what 2020 has in store. All I know is this will definitely be a year for the books.

For one, this is my first year of being a mom. I’m ready to embrace everything motherhood has to offer. You can bet your ass I’ll be documenting it along the way – the good, the bad, and everything in between.

I’m ready to get back into blogging. I took some time off because it was just too overwhelming to work on, on top of everything else going on. If I’m honest, I’m really worried that I still won’t be able to handle it. Hopefully once Aidan and I get into a proper routine, things will pick back up here. So yea, stay tuned!

We don’t really have any real travel planned this year, BUT I would like to be able to take a couple of small trips with the baby. Steve mentioned taking a trip around Christmas to Belgium, but we’ll see about that one…

The main thing this year is looking for a house. We’re planning on relocating up to Yorkshire this summer, and our house hunt will be starting soon! We want the best for Aidan, and feel that this move is what’s right for our little family.

Whatever happens this year, the most important thing to me now is this little human I’ve brought into this world. Having a child really puts things into perspective for you. 2020 doesn’t have to be kind to me, but as long as it is to him, that’s all that matters to me.

xx Lauren
