Our New Normal + Supermarket Voucher Giveaway

We’ve been adjusting to life in lockdown pretty well over here, for the most part. Our new normal…well, it’s not so different from what it was right before the lockdown. Getting used to life with an infant pretty much kept us (or me, at least) housebound to begin with! We take Aidan on a daily walk and spend loads of time in the garden (when the weather is nice), just so we get out of the house and don’t go stircrazy! So yea, aside from that, the only one really leaving the house to do anything is poor Steve to go on supermarket runs.

As we’re one of the lucky households that are put on the “priority vulnerable” lists for the supermarkets, I’m able to get a weekly shop delivered every Sunday. With inventory on so many items selling out though, it’s very rare that I actually get a full order, so Steve gets what he can when he gets out. Like, I’ve been trying to get flour (and failing) for over a month now. A MONTH. All I want is to make banana bread, and I’m getting serious FOMO seeing everyone’s delicious loaves online.

There’s no telling when this situation will end, and it’s frustrating. All of the plans that we’ve had for the summer are now put on hold. Visits from my family to meet Aidan have been put off until god knows when. We have to wait to plan our move up north. It seems that the new normal means being stuck in limbo for a while. I’m sure everyone shares these frustrations.

I can’t wait until this is all over, and our “normal” looks a bit different.
