Timeless Pieces By Trotters Childrenswear

I absolutely adore shopping for my little man.  To be honest, these days I find it more enjoyable than shopping for myself.  With Aidan getting bigger and bigger every day, he’s quite literally outgrowing everything faster than I can keep up with.  I believe “quality” is better than “quantity” when it comes to my clothing, and I tend to keep that in mind when shopping for Aidan’s clothes as well.  I know that young children go through clothing so quickly, either staining everything they wear or just simply outgrowing items, but I do still think it’s always worth investing in a few quality pieces to add to their wardrobe.  Trotters Childrenswear offers a variety of quality childrenswear and accessories that will keep your little one looking absolutely adorable in clothing that you know is going to last.

Trotters has been making clothes and shoes for little ones since the ‘90s and have always kept a high standard when it comes to the quality of materials used in their products.  Striving since day one to build a sustainable business, they use materials such as 100% organic cotton, and where possible, source materials through the Better Cotton Initiative, which is the largest cotton sustainability programme in the entire world.  I have so much respect for companies like Trotters that are so transparent in the efforts they make to be more sustainable.

This ‘Here Comes Trouble’ jumper they sent Aidan is so incredibly soft.  Besides the fact that it is the perfect shirt for Aidan (the boy is definitely trouble!), it is such a great staple piece for this time of year.  You would not believe it, but it’s actually a wool sweater; it’s made from a gorgeous soft, wool mix so it’s gentle against little one’s skin.  Aidan has sensitive skin like me, and I can assure you that it does not irritate his skin at all.

I’ve paired the jumper with their Deep Red Jake Jeans, which are made from a soft cotton corduroy.  It’s the perfect kind of outfit for these crisp autumn days leading into winter.  I would even suggest layering a collared shirt underneath to pull the outfit together completely.  I think the entire outfit is perfect for Christmas photos, too; the adorably cheeky slogan just makes it that much better!

We are huge fans of cosy pyjamas in this house.  And to me, there is absolutely nothing cuter than a baby or toddler in pyjamas.  These Felix Pyjamas are made from brushed cotton and have an elasticated waist for maximum comfort.  And the design…I am OBSESSED with the design of these pyjamas.  I love the white and blue stripe with the navy piping, and the Guardsman embroidery is so sweet.  Aidan looks so smart in them, and with the matching Felix Bathrobe, he looks like such a little man.  I can’t handle how grown up he looks!  We bundle him up right after bath time in the gorgeous bathrobe, and then enjoy lots of snuggles in our pyjamas together.  Aidan’s pyjamas are, without a doubt, much cuter than any pyjamas I own, by the way.

I’m impressed with the attention to detail and quality of each piece.  You can tell that Trotters puts a lot of thought and love into every single item they offer.  Not surprising, given the fact they are a family-owned business.  Just as impressive as their quality is their prices; the jumper for example, is only £55 and the jeans are only £45!  I’ve had a nose through their entire site, and most items are very reasonably priced, really.  There are a few splurge pieces too (who doesn’t love a splurge every now and then?), so there is definitely something for every budget and occasion.

In a world domineered by cheap, fast fashion it’s nice to know that you can still get quality pieces that won’t break the bank.  They make great hand-me-downs, as well.  As someone with four siblings, we had quite a lot of hand-me-downs in our house!  We’ll definitely be adding to our family in the next couple of years, and I’m so happy to know that these pieces will be lived in and loved by Aidan’s future siblings for years to come.
