Holiday Gift Guide: Advent Calendars

Now that it’s November it is OFFICIALLY time to start thinking Christmas. To be honest, it was pretty much time for me on Halloween, but I reigned myself in the best that I could from buying anything Christmas until mid-November. Also, my parents and little brother were here for a week and a half, so that was helpful. Of course, I’m now a bit more behind that I’d like to be on things like Christmas content (and shopping, eek!). Typical, really. I’m excited to kick things off with my first gift guide of the season – advent calendars! There are so many great advent calendars on the market, from beauty to food, and some for the little ones as well!

Buying an advent calendar is a great way to kick off the holiday season, especially if you have kids. Aidan is still a bit young to really appreciate advent calendars, but I do think I’ll still get him one anyway! And one for myself. Obviously. Here is a roundup of some of the best advent calendars that I’ve seen so far. Definitely worth grabbing before they all get snapped up (and some of them are selling out very quickly!).

advent calendars

Charlotte Tilbury Dreams & Secrets Beauty Advent Calendar – Is it even an advent calendar roundup without Charlotte Tilbury’s yearly addition? It includes 12 of their best products. I actually cannot recommend these beauty products enough, having used most of them before on a daily basis. Sadly it’s currently out of stock, but you can sign up to be notified when it’s back in stock. I’ve signed up, and will update this once it’s back in stock!

LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar – One for the kiddos, or die-hard HP fan in your life! It contains figurines of the main characters, and kids can combine all the different pieces to recreate famous scenes from the books/movies.

asos advent calendars

ASOS Face + Body 24 Day Advent Calendar – This containt 24 products, 15 of which are full-sized! There are loads of great brands included in this, and everything comes in a handy reusable tote bag. There are also limited golden tickets inside for your chance to win a super stash of goodies! (Just need to check out their site for the T&C’s).

beauty advent calendars

Benefit The More The Merrier 12 Merry Days Of Makeup Beauty Advent Calendar – Includes 12 fun-sized versions of all of Benefit’s best-sellers in a cute, special edition keepsake box.

john lewis advent calendars

John Lewis Prosecco and Bubbly Advent Calendar – Okay, now this is my kind of advent calendar! It has 24 mini bottles of different champagnes and proseccos. Nothing says the holidays like a fresh glass of bubbly!

alcohol advent calendars

Master of Malt Premium Gin Advent Calendar – If bubbly isn’t your thing, then this gin advent calendar will be! Inlcudes popular gins from over 12 different countries, making it the ultimate treat for gin lovers. Such a great price as well!

Marks and Spencer Real Gold Plated Charms Advent Calendar – This advent calendar contains 12 boxes with premium gold-plate charms and necklaces that can be interchanged for loads of different looks. It cost £100 which is pretty considering the contents are worth double that!

The Chuckling Cheese Company Xmas Advent Calendar With Cheese, Chutney, And Biscuits – This is a cheese-lover’s dream! (Aka mine..my dream) It comes with 8 flavors of cheese (including a special edition holiday flavor!), and mini chutneys and cheese biscuits. A great option for the foodie in your life!

chocolate advent calendars

Hotel Chocolat The Grand Advent Calendar – You can never go wrong with chocolate advent calendars. This advent calendar is loaded with, of course, chocolates. BUT it also has little tipples, beauty products and hot chocolate. If that doesn’t scream “grand”, I don’t know what does.

kid's advent calendars

Melissa & Doug Advent Calendar – Finishing this list off with another one for the kids! This is such a cute idea for kids to get in on the Christmas festivities. The advent calendar is a magnetic wooden Christmas tree, and comes with 24 ornaments and a star for the top. Each day in the lead up to Christmas, kids can pick whichever ornament they want to place on the tree. Such a different idea to the standard advent calendars you see for kids.

    • I struggle too! I had a Charlotte Tilbury Advent Calendar a few years ago and it was absolutely amazing! It’s a shame this one’s already sold out, but I’m definitely keeping an eye out for when it is back in stock!
