My Everyday Makeup

So, the title of this post is the tiniest bit misleading, because I don’t actually wear makeup every single day.  Working from home, the most I will put on some days is just a bit of mascara. That being said, I do have a go-to makeup look for the instances that I DO leave the house (or ya know, just want to feel slightly less like a bum).

SKIN PREP

I start off by cleansing my skin, as you do.  I swear by Garnier cleansing products (like this cleansing milk and cleansing gel).  I then moisturize using the L’Oreal Hydra Genius, which is slowly becoming my favorite.

FACE

I typically don’t wear that much makeup during the day, as I like to go for a more “natural” look.  I use a cc cream, followed by some concealer under my eyes to attempt to hide my dark circles. Though most of the time it’s an effort wasted because I can NEVER seem to cover them completely – if anyone has any tips/recommendations on that, then I’m all ears.

EYES

I sweep a brown eyeshadow over my lids (typically one of the shades from the Naked palette), and line the eyes with a black pencil.  I follow this up with a few swipes of mascara – I use the Maybelline Lash Sensational, and it’s one of the best mascaras I’ve ever used.  And Meghan Markle apparently uses it so great minds think alike. I also always fill in my eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil no matter what – I feel like it just doesn’t look right without it.  In all honestly, I want to try getting them microbladed but am way too scared (yet I wasn’t afraid to get three tattoos LOL).

FINISHING TOUCHES

Using the Rimmel Sculpting Palette, I sweep a bit of bronzer, blush, and some highlighter over my face.  Love this product because it has instructions on the back that even I can’t mess up lol. I have the palette in “Coral Glow” and love it.  After that, a bit of lip gloss (currently obsessed with Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme) and I’m done.

All in all this look takes about ten minutes or so to do, which is great because I’m lazy.  I like to live by the words of the great Gino D’Acampo – “Minimum effort, maximum reward.”

  • Don’t be scared about micro blading. Best thing I ever did. I had plucked them so much as a teenager that there were hardly any hairs. Colouring them everyday was doing my head in. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
