The True MVPs Of My Skincare Routine

I’m going to start off by saying that I am in NO WAY an expert on all things skincare.  But I am SO particular about what I put on my body. I try (emphasis on try) to only use products that are ethical, natural, etc.  Obviously sometimes I stray from thisl, depending on how much I like the product – but hey, nobody’s perfect. I also have somewhat sensitive skin, so I try to stay away from products that have harsh chemicals in them.

In addition to using products that aren’t harmful to the skin, I have a somewhat basic skincare routine as of late.  Mainly because I hardly ever leave the house or wear makeup anymore #workfromhomelife.

That being said, here are the few products that make up the base items of my skincare products.  I hardly ever swap these out for other products, unless I find one that I REALLY want to try out.  This obviously excludes random items that I buy intermittently, such as scrubs, serums, etc.

MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER

I wanted a cleanser that removes makeup (the little that I wear when I decide like looking human), and is gentle on my skin.  I happened to pick up Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing Water one day when I was in Superdrug and OH MY GOD I love it. That was months ago, and I’ve been using it since.  It gently removes all of my makeup (even on the RARE occassion that I actually use more than mascara and some concealer), cleanses and soothes the skin. It’s also fragrance free, which is a huge plus for me, as the harsh chemicals used for fragrance can be irritating to the skin.  I usually soak a cotton pad in it and remove my makeup with that, then follow up with a rinse, even though you don’t technically HAVE to.

BLEMISH GEL

I know – you’d think I wouldn’t get breakouts since I wear practically NO makeup lately, but here we are.  I apply this Witch Naturally Clear gel everyday, even when I don’t have a breakout, because I’m clearly paranoid.  It contains Witch Hazel (obviously, judging by it’s name), which has TONS of benefits to the skin, besides being great for breakouts.  Another awesome blemish treatment I’ve used before and love is Burt’s Bees Acne Stick, which, you guessed it – has witch hazel in it.

LOTION

I am so anal about moisturising.  I literally cannot go a day without coating myself in lotion the second I come out of the shower.  I’ve tried so many lotions, but I always find myself coming back to Nivea. It’s super moisturising and doesn’t irritate my skin.  I even use the body lotion on my face (gasp!). Most people recommend not using a body lotion on your face, but if you don’t have overly oily or dry skin then you’re good, my friend.

What are some of the skincare products you swear by?
